What You Need to Know!

GYMFINITY LOGO - V3.png

Hi Teal Family!

We’re excited to share the Evaluation process for our amazing Gymfinity athletes. This process helps us place each athlete on the team that best supports their growth, development and goals.

All current Gymfinity athletes are monitored throughout the current competition season.

LOTC | Angels | Genesis | ICONs

Gymfinity athletes who would like to Tryout for LOTC, Angels, Genesis or ICONs will need to sign up for the correct tryout via the below link (Athletes currently in these teams do not need to sign up):-

Gymfinity Prep & Allstar Athletes

For Gymfinity athletes in all other teams there is no requirement to attend a separate tryout. Coaches monitor attendance, commitment, dedication, attitude, performance, progress & much much more all year long.

Every Gymfinity athlete will soon receive a link to complete letting us know your goals, ambitions and any feedback in preparation for the year ahead!

Every Gymfinity team coach works together to place athletes into teams that will be best for their development, confidence and most of all, their enjoyment of Allstar Cheer.

Alongside monitoring all athletes throughout the season, we’re introducing a new 3-week combined training timetable before the start of the new season. This dedicated time will give athletes the opportunity to:

Train alongside new teammates 🤝

Try out new skills and challenges 💪

Be supported by different coaches who may not usually work with them👏

It’s a great chance for everyone to grow, connect and start the season strong!

Our combined training timetable will run Tuesday 30th June - Sunday 19th July. Our combined timetable will be sent out to members shortly with some further information available below:-

What Do Coaches look for when Selecting Teams?

Our coaches take every aspect of an athlete into account when making team placements for the new season. A great deal of thought and care goes into building teams where each athlete can thrive — with the most enjoyment, success and opportunities to grow. Most importantly, our coaches genuinely care. We are committed to supporting every athlete and helping them become the very best version of themselves, both on and off the floor! 💪✨

Age & Ability/Technique: All athletes are placed into teams based on their age and ability. Our goal is always to place athletes where they will thrive in their development, grow in confidence, and most importantly — enjoy their Allstar Cheer journey.

Cheer Scoresheet: Teams are formed in order to hit all aspects of the scoresheet. The Cheer Scoresheet is changing for many athletes next season, with increased difficulty across all levels. These updates will play a key role in placing athletes onto the most appropriate teams for their current skill level and growth potential.

Prep Divisions – More Competitive Than Ever:
Prep divisions are no longer just for beginners. They’ve become highly competitive, serving as a crucial step for athletes to master foundational skills before progressing to full Allstar Cheer teams. These divisions offer vital training and competitive experience in a supportive environment.

Progression Isn't Always About "Moving Up" a Level or Team

At Gymfinity, athlete development is our top priority — and that means progression is personal, not automatic. Athletes will not “move up” a level or change teams each year by default.

We only place athletes on higher-level teams when they are truly ready in all areas of cheer — not just one skill set.

Sometimes an athlete may excel in one area (like tumbling) but still need time to build strength, technique, or confidence in others (like stunting or performance).

Rushing progression can take the fun out of training and competition, and even lead to frustration or injury. Our goal is to make sure every athlete feels challenged, supported, and happy in the team they’re placed on — setting them up for long-term success in cheer and beyond! 💪✨

Progress Is More Than Just Moving Up a Level

At Gymfinity, athlete progression is about mastery, not just movement.

Athletes will only move up to a higher level once all key skills in their current division have been consistently mastered.

For example, being able to do a back handspring does not automatically mean placement on a Level 2 team. Athletes must also show exceptional tumbling technique, strong stunt ability, jumps, performance, flexibility, and overall readiness.

Progress isn’t defined by the number on your team — it’s about how much you’ve grown. Many athletes make incredible progress within their current level, building strength, confidence, and skills that set them up for long-term success.

We are proud of every athlete’s journey and are committed to supporting their development at the pace that’s right for them!

Age Placement for Team Strength

At Gymfinity, we always aim for athletes to compete at the top end of their age division whenever possible.

This approach helps ensure that:

Teams are stronger and more competitive within their division.

Athletes feel confident and capable.

Each athlete is set up for success and growth throughout the season.

It’s all part of building well-balanced, high-performing teams that support both individual development and collective achievement!

Confidence, Capability & Joy — That’s the Teal Standard

We see our athletes truly thrive when they’re placed on a team where they feel confident and capable of performing every aspect of their level.

“There is nothing better than watching our athletes hit a routine with passion, exceptional technique, and pure enjoyment — and that is exactly what we aim for with every single Teal athlete”

Our goal is to create an environment where athletes feel empowered, supported, and proud of the work they put on the floor.

Join Us for Our Upcoming Parent Meetings!

We invite all parents to attend our upcoming meetings where we’ll dive deeper into team placements, athlete development, pathways and everything you need to know about Gymfinity!

This is a great opportunity to ask questions, chat and get excited for the season ahead. We can’t wait to see you there! Dates will be announced shortly.

Our Skills guide below shows the tumble skills required for each level. At Gymfinity to be a tumble athlete within a team you would require the Elite tumbles for you level (The end 2 columns)!
